Lovely May powder in The Slot

Ran up to ski the Slot on Mt Snoqualmie yesterday afternoon after work. Left Seattle around 3pm, skinning just after 4pm from the Alpental parking lot, and reaching the top a couple hours later. It was mixed rain/snow as we left, which quickly turned to snow above 4k or so. Found some really nice powder snow in the Slot. Daaaaamn I love skiing powder in May. On the way out, we traversed skiers' left up and over the saddle and back into the Alpy valley. The ski down to the car was a bit mank but we didn't care... we were pretty stoked

The entry to the Slot, looking a little ominous in the fading light and fog

The top pitch, steep and good snow. It was muy bueno

sweet pow pow

The visibility improved in the middle section, while the snow was just as good

Yes, it's really May

British Columbia, march 09

Just got back from 4 days skiing in interior British Columbia, spent 3 days skiing in Whitewater and one in Red Mountain. Beautiful snow in Whitewater, as I am beginning to get accustomed to. And a result of just 20cms in the previous 3 days, but a snowy March (+2 meters)

This is looking towards the main lift at Whitewater.

First day was time for playing around inbounds, as is normally the case skiing with 'Air' Alex, we ended the day dropping some fun stuff in the powder keg.

Me hitting a fun drop off a small spine
